|Drawn by yours truly.|
I know a lot of you reading this are not in the United States but it's Thanksgiving tomorrow here. I wanted to post something a bit light hearted in leu of such a heartfelt holiday.
Since moving away from home (Japan to the U.S) after high school, working in jobs where holidays mean double-pay instead of days off, I haven't had the chance to be at home for many holidays. I'm either working or at someone else's house - which, to this day I'm so thankful for. My college roommates have welcomed me to their home for Thanksgiving several times and my close friends have done that for me as well post-school. In fact, I'll never forget 3 years ago when I was working a 12 hour manager-on-duty shift on Thanksgiving day, my best friend surprised me by bringing me turkey! I cried!
This year isn't much different either; I'll be spending Thanksgiving weekend with my best friend and her family.
Anyway, my whole point is that aside from the obvious things I'm thankful for, (family, friends, professional sports, a roof over my head) I'm thankful for you that's taking your time to read this and the travel-lover's community I've unknowingly joined this year in April. I've made such amazing connections with people from all over the world through my Instagram, this blog and Twitter. I've had the best time getting to know everyone and I'm eagerly looking forward to what's ahead.
Thank you for always putting a smile on my face. Happy Thanksgiving!
