Wanderlust Book Club #1

One of my New Years Resolutions was to digital detox which I was hoping would lead to reading more. Well, April is almost over and I haven't even read a single book. I started about 3 but as usual, I get distracted and the book starts collecting dust bunnies.

So, in an attempt to hold myself accountable and also in hopes that you'll join in, I decided to start a book club! While I would like for it to be related to travel and creativity, I'm open to suggestions and to a variety of genres.

Let's Go To: Kyoto, Japan

I have yet to meet someone that doesn't list Kyoto as one of their favorite cities, not excluding myself. Even though I grew up in Tokyo, I've only visited a handful of times and could never get enough of the historical, aesthetically pleasing city. Every time I go back home to Tokyo, I try to go on a short domestic trip and decided to visit Kyoto again - especially because it was cherry blossom season!

This was my 3rd time visiting Kyoto, I've visited once during the summer (I do not suggest that as it's extremely hot and humid) and once during fall (highly, highly recommend because of all the gorgeous fall foliage).

10 Ways To Survive Long Flights

While I was on my 12.5 hour flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo, I was thinking of how miserable it is to be on such a long flight. You're stuck in a metallic cylinder for basically an entire day and it's even worse when you're alone!

Of course, you can live the mile high life by sitting in First Class where they feed you grapes on a silver platter, constantly at your beck and call and make international flights a pleasure. However, for those of us that aren't quite that lucky or loaded, have no fear! I've come up with 10 flight tips to make your long flights so much better!

Let's Go To: Hakone, Japan

Greetings from Tokyo, Japan! I arrived in Tokyo last week and it's been a blast as usual. If you weren't aware, I'm originally from Tokyo and my entire family still lives here. To celebrate my little brother graduating college, I decided to come back for some quality time with my family.

As fun as Tokyo is, my parents planned two trips within Japan while I visited - Hakone and Kyoto. I'm sure everyone recognizes Kyoto but most likely not Hakone. Hakone is a small town about an hour southwest of Tokyo by express train (a little slower than a bullet train) and is largely known for their 'onsen' hot spring resorts.
