If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I take food just as seriously as I do my landscape photos when I travel. That's because I believe cuisine plays a big part in learning a new culture. Pasta in Italy, Sashimi in Japan, whatever it may be, it's a way to immerse yourself in that foreign location.
Unfortunately for most of us, we can't travel 365 days a year and eat delicious food that's out of our norm. So when Sun Basket reached out to me introducing their Globetrotter Program, I was sold!
While we've seen other cook-it-yourself food deliveries out there, Sun Basket is different. They only use 100% USDA Organic, non-GMO and responsibly sourced produce. The dishes are customizable with Paleo, Gluten-Free and Vegetarian options, too! You can get weekly shipments that come right to your door with hassle-free, pre-measured ingredients for your recipe.
The Globetrotter Program introduces a series of dishes inspired by different destinations around the world. This past week, they had the Yucatan Style Salmon with Capers and Tomatoes. I cooked it up myself to see how hard or easy the process was!
The Cooking Verdict: The portioned items and clear instructions made the process of cooking so much easier! It eliminated the time of measuring or weighing ingredients or forgetting a crucial item (I do that more often that I'd like to admit!). The entire process took approximately 30 minutes. Yes, it looks like a lot of plastic but guess what? They're all recyclable!
The Tasting Verdict: Wow, delicious is an understatement. Everything turned out perfectly and honestly, I thought my dish looked even better than on the recipe card :) There were 2 other dishes in the box and they were all just as tasty!
What a great way to get cook and enjoy international cuisine at the comfort of your own home! The Globetrotter Program is still going on through November. My fellow travelers, I really think you'll enjoy this for when you're stuck at home! Click here and get $30 off your first purchase by clicking the 'redeem offer' button!
Sun Basket sent me a box during their Globetrotter campaign - thank you! Opinions are my own.
