LA Locals Love: Glen Ivy Hot Springs & Spa

Glen Ivy Spa Corona

Ever since I moved to Los Angeles, people have told me to visit the Glen Ivy Hot Springs & Spa in Corona. Corona is about 30-40 minutes East of Los Angeles in the Inland Empire. Glen Ivy is a hot springs resort and a day spa, perfect for relaxation! Now that I've spent a day there, I'm so mad I hadn't visited before!

When my best friend was visiting from Portland, I wanted to take her somewhere to relax and I knew Glen Ivy was the perfect idea. We both love swimming, beaches, hot tubs...just being in water. That's actually how we bonded at a work training - hours in a Hilton Garden Inn pool, haha!

If you're looking for a day spa in Los Angeles or Orange County, Glen Ivy is highly recommended!

Our Maui Engagement Story || Ad

I have partnered with Jewelers Mutual for this post. However, all opinions are as always, my own.

While a few of you already know this, I got engaged last November. I've had some readers ask me to discuss the engagement but I had so much travel and work happening, I didn't have the chance to share the experience. But today, I'm excited to finally sit down and tell you the story of our engagement that happened last year in Maui, Hawaii!

5 Things You Must Eat When Visiting Harajuku Tokyo

Harajuku Food Places

If you're a frequent reader of this blog, you know I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. If not, hello and yes, I was lived in Tokyo until I was 18! I grew up in Shibuya to be exact, smack in the middle of the biggest city in the world. I don't know anything other than the city life and I'm a self-proclaimed Tokyo expert.

When in Tokyo, one of the top places I recommend for anyone to visit is Harajuku. The eclectic, busy and pop-culture-bursting area of Tokyo. Specifically in Harajuku, Takeshita Street is not to be missed! It's a strip of small restaurants and shops that are cheap, quirky and fun - not to mention the people watching quality is top notch!

LA Locals Love: Hello Kitty Cafe

It's not news that I love Sanrio, the umbrella company of famous characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Bad Batzmaru, Keroppi and more. Since Sanrio is a Japanese company, it's sentimental for me and love that people appreciate it even here in the United States. I recently visited the Pompompurin Cafe in Tokyo, Japan and I couldn't get enough! When friends alerted me that there were a couple temporary Hello Kitty Cafes here in the Los Angeles area, I knew I had to visit!

5 Amazing Benefits of Scuba Diving || Ad

This post is in collaboration with PADI. However, all opinions and experiences as always, are my own.

I'm so excited to be partnering with PADI (The Professional Association of Diving Instructors) to celebrate the third-annual Women's Dive Day on July 15th.

Women's Dive Day is a day where divers - both male and female alike - will unite around the world through hundreds of different events hosted by PADI Dive Centers and Resorts to celebrate female divers, all the while aiming to decrease the gender gap in scuba certification. To give you a little more background, PADI is the world's largest scuba diver training organization, having issued more than 25 million certifications to passionate divers and ocean advocates across the globe. Women's Dive Day is just one example of how this powerful group can unite as one under a worthwhile cause.

Scuba diving has always been an experience that is consistently magical, wherever I do it. My experience of scuba diving started fairly young when my family and I were vacationing in Okinawa. After exploring the deep waters of beautiful Okinawa, I continued to dive in Saipan and Hawaii. It's been a good amount of years since I last dove but now that I'm looking back on it, I really need to go again soon!

Featured Friends: Serena from Serena On The Go

Welcome to July's Featured Friends! I'm excited to have Serena from Serena On The Go as my guest this month. While she's a Travel Blogger, she's not your typical one. She finds, experiences, researches and writes about tips and tricks on getting the most out of travel. Not to give away too much but she's an expert in maximizing loyalty programs - from working in the hospitality and airline industry myself, I know that can be a science, so I have a lot of respect for Serena! Without further ado, get to know her and learn something new!

Tea Time At The Bird Cafe In Tokyo Japan

Kotori Cafe Omotesando

Japan has become quite the popular spot for unique, themed cafes. Among those themed cafes that are particularly popular are the animal cafes! It all started with a single cat cafe in Tokyo, where locals were able to visit, grab coffee and get soothed by the presence of cats. I'm personally deathly allergic to cats and don't like cats in general (sorry!) so I wasn't ever interested. But when other animal cafes started introducing dogs, rabbits, snakes, owls, hedgehogs and parrots, that definitely perked my interest!
